Norton Media Library Instructor’s CD-ROM
Outstanding visuals are available for classroom demonstration. All of the drawn art from the text, with and without labels, and many of the photographs are available on the Norton Media Library Instructor’s CD. All figures have been enhanced for projection in large lecture halls.

Other Norton Media Library resources include:
- Editable Lecture PowerPoints provide a handy starting point for lecture presentations. Instructors can use these enhanced outlines “as is,” or customize them using the extensive art resources available on the Norton Media Library. Each chapter’s Lecture PowerPoints include embedded versions of the Process Animations, and Concept Quiz clicker questions (see below). Lecturers’ Notes that offer additional information and teaching tips supplement each chapter’s Lecture PowerPoints.
- Process Animations developed specifically for Discover Biology bring key figures from the text to life, presenting key biological processes in a dynamic format. These animations can be enlarged to full-screen view, and include VCR-like controls make it easy for instructors to control the pace of the animation during lecture.
- Concept Quiz clicker questions for each chapter allow you to assess your students’ understanding of concepts presented in lectures and actively engage them in the learning process.

Norton Resource Library Instructor's Web Site
The Norton Resource Library provides comprehensive instructor resources in one centralized online location. In the library, instructors can download ready-to-use one-stop solutions for online courses, such as WebCT e-Packs and BlackBoard Course Cartridges, or they can tailor these premade course packs to suite their own needs.
Norton Gradebook
Norton Gradebook is an online resource that allows instructors and students to store and track their online quiz results. The results from each quiz students take on the DiscoverBiology.com student web site are uploaded to the password-protected Gradebook, where instructors can access and sort them by section, book, chapter, student name, and date. Students can access the Gradebook to review their personal results. Results can easily be downloaded to users’ desktops. Registration for the Gradebook is instant and no setup is required.
Test Bank
Available in both print and ExamView formats, the Test-Item File features multiple-choice, completion, and true/false questions.
Transparencies
Transparencies of all drawn art and selected photographs from the text are available.
Discovery Channel DVD
The Discovery Channel Life Science DVD series contains over 100 video clips organized into 6 modules: classification of organisms (parts 1 & 2); cell biology and genetics; anatomy and physiology; evolution; and ecology.
Each disc provides an easy-navigation menu, a downloadable MPEG-1 file for every video clip, and English and Spanish audio tracks and subtitles. Five user’s guides are included. Available for qualified adopters.
Discover Biology in the News Instructor's DVD
Features sixty real news clips for use in introductory biology lectures. Carefully selected for their continuing relevance, the news clips serve as the perfect complement to Discovery Biology. Available for all adopters.
